“To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Matthew 28: 19-20a spells out the task of this mission. We seek to fulfill that mission by becoming an ‘inviting, welcoming, nurturing, and serving community of Christ.’ We invite you to join us in that endeavor. We eagerly want to be in ministry with you, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

The Melikin Puppets of Bolingbrook, Illinois, present 'The Shoemaker and the Elves' and 'The Night before Christmas' as seen by the family dog. Mel, LaVerne and sons Neal and Jeff Biske, known as the Melikins, live just outside Chicago in Bolingbrook, Illinois. They have toured the country from coast to coast and border to border. Mel has been "puppeting" since his Cub Scout days. The interest grew into a profession when in 1967, Mel and LaVerne formed the Melikin Puppet Theatre. Our own Prayin’ and Praisin’ Puppet Project will be performing 'The First Christmas.' Tickets are $5 per person; Children under 5 are free. They will also be giving a performance at 2:00 p.m. that same Saturday. Get in the Christmas spirit by seeing these delightful presentations.

(Rockford, IL) Because of Bethlehem You Have a Savior in Heaven. You are invited to a 4-session, video-based study by Max Lucado. Meeting each Sunday, from Nov. 26th through Dec. 17, choose between 11:30 a.m. in the Church Parlor or 3:30 p.m. at 5772 Pepper Dr. We encourage everyone to join a group to study together as we always learn a new insight from someone else. But, if you find you're unable to attend either time, you can still read the book on your own - there are study questions you can do in the back of the book to help increase your understanding! Sign up sheets for the sessions/book are in the Church Narthex or you may call the Church Office. You may purchase a book for $11 from the Church Office.
