Read the article in our January 2019 'Chimes' called '10 Reasons Why We Need at Least 8 Hugs a Day' to get the in-depth explanation, but basically hugs, giving and receiving, boost our sense of safety, our oxytocin levels, and our serotonin levels. In other words, they make us feel better because they release a lot of good, healthy things in our system. (Rockford, IL) Court Street UMC's annual free Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be Thursday, November 22, 2018, at Court Street United Methodist Church at 215 North Court St. We ask you to share this information with the homeless, hungry, or lonely persons in your community. Many volunteers from the Rockford area serve dinner to hundreds of people every year. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone attending to share the many Blessings of Thanksgiving with others for a sit down dinner in a peaceful, prayerful environment. Once again music will be provided for everyone’s enjoyment. Serving time is 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
