'A Charlie Brown Christmas' to be Presented

(Rockford, IL) A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS will be staged by Court Street’s FINE ARTS SATURDAY TROUPE (FAST). This 45 minute presentation is a musical version of the highly rated annual TV special which was first broadcast on December 9, 1965. In the production Charlie Brown is feeling depressed because of the commercialism of Christmas. Through directing the Christmas pageant and with the help of Linus, Charlie Brown discovers the true meaning of Christmas.

The production is being staged by James L. Crow with musical direction by Jack Armstrong, and features a cast of 15 middle and elementary school age performers. Performances are Friday, December 8, at 7:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, and Sunday, December 10, at 10 am and 2:00 pm.

All performances will be in the seasonally decorated sanctuary of Court Street United Methodist Church at 215 North Court Street. Admission for each performance is $5.00 per person. Children under 5 are free. For further information call 815-962-6061.
