Music Ministry

Music is very important to Court Street United Methodist Church. It is a way for church members to reconnect with God and show their love for him, and to enjoy its beauty and inspirational components.

Chancel Choir

This is a God-centered choir for people ages 18 and up who wish to share their musical gifts with the congregation on a weekly basis. Chancel Choir participates in nearly every Sunday service by leading the congregational hymns and offering an anthem in response to the week’s scripture or sermon.


TUESDAY @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM | CHOIR ROOM

Youth Choir

For ages 6 -14. This group’s focus is on building healthy singing voices, blending, note-reading, understanding rhythm and integration of instruments into our group (bells, rhythm instruments, Orff instruments, etc.). We also work on a special Christmas program each year. Youth Choir participates in worship every 4-5 weeks.


SUNDAY @ AFTER WORSHIP - 12:00 PM | CHOIR ROOM

Ju-Bell-ation

A hand bell choir that performs in worship every 4-6 weeks and on high holy days. Bell ringing is a skill anyone can learn.


TUESDAY @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM | CHOIR ROOM

Children's & Youth Ministries

Court Street UMC wants to partner with parents on the journey of spiritual growth for their children and teenagers. Our greatest desire is to help families and their children "Believe in Jesus Christ, Belong to the family of believers, and be disciples who know their scriptures and live them in our world".

Mission

United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.

Turning faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world.


Purpose

We are:

A community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Court Street UMC women are committed to living victorious lives in Christ. All women are invited to join a small group that meets outside of the church, at various houses depending on the group.

Men's Group

Becoming the man God created us to be. Court Street UMC men are leaders at home, church and in their communities. They meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. at the Stockholm Inn, 2420 Charles St., for breakfast. All men are welcome to join this group that does many worthwhile projects in the church and community.

Waffles & Worship

If you have never attended a Waffles and Worship event, this special one-hour service consists of hearing Pastor Cal’s inspiring words, listening to or singing along with the Praise Team (Krysta Tilges, Jack Armstrong, Ryanne Ludington & Ken Whitmore), and enjoying a warm breakfast. It is held on the last Sunday of every month at 8 a.m. in the Dining Room. This event is a Mission Outreach Service, where the community is invited to attend so that the Court Street congregation can come and get to know its neighbors. There is no charge, but a free-will offering is appreciated (in addition, donations to help with food costs are needed.)
